The fastback was delivered new in Brittany Blue (8/1624-A), and the color was changed to white with blue stripes under previous ownership. The vehicle is said to have been refinished again in Florida under current ownership to match the factory-applied color. Stripes were added at that time, although the car originally came without stripes. Features include a twin-scoop hood with pins, GT500 rocker-panel stripes, chrome-finished bumpers, side and quarter scoops, a rear spoiler, a special taillight panel, and dual exhaust finishers that terminate through the bottom of the rear valance. In November 2022 FoMoCo-script headlamp bulbs reportedly were installed and the headlamp and taillight harnesses were replaced.
Five-spoke 15″ Magstar-style wheels with black accents wear Shelby center caps and are mounted with Goodyear Speedway 350 E70-15 tires at each corner. The braking system is power-assisted and utilizes four-piston front calipers paired with rear drums. The car also is equipped with power-assisted steering.
The interior features bucket seats and a folding rear bench with black Decor-style upholstery complemented by black carpets and trim. A Ford-branded AM radio is located in the center of the dash, which has a Shelby GT500 emblem affixed on the passenger side. Rubber pads are integrated into the driver-side carpeting. The brake pedal utilizes a “Disc Brake” pad. A patch is noted in the headliner near the driver-side visor, the rearview mirror shows delamination, and marks are present on the glovebox door.
A woodgrain steering wheel sits ahead of a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for fuel level and water temperature. A Stewart-Warner gauge pod is mounted below the radio under the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, approximately 10 of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown, and the turn-signal lever was replaced in late 2022.
The trunk is said to have been refinished when the car was repainted, and the floor is covered with a plaid liner. In November 2022 a matching spare wheel and tire was mounted in the trunk.
The 428ci V8 was rated at 355 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque when new. In July 2021 the Holley BJ/BK four-barrel carburetors are said to have been rebuilt, and service in November 2022 consisted of replacing the coolant hoses, thermostat, drive belts, alternator, and voltage regulator. The missing front splash shields and incorrect hardware also were replaced at this time according to the seller. Block castings and the rear differential tag are pictured in the gallery below.
Power is delivered to the wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a 9″ rear axle.
Copies of the production order sheet, build sheet, and sales paperwork will accompany the car. The included Deluxe Marti report lists the color scheme, factory equipment, build statistics, original selling dealership, and a Ford production date of June 7, 1967.
