The aluminum bodywork of the Flaminia 2.8 3C was designed, formed, and installed in Milan, Italy, by Carrozzeria Touring using their superleggera construction technique, which involved wrapping a hand-formed aluminum skin over a steel structure. This example is said to have been refinished in silver in the early 1990s under previous ownership. The quad headlights are fitted with amber bulbs, and further exterior details include a black soft top, a red boot cover, a hood scoop, a left-side mirror, and bright window trim and bumpers. An imperfection in the paint is noted on the hood.
Silver-finished 400mm steel wheels wear polished trim rings as well as Lancia-branded hubcaps. 165-series Pirelli tires are mounted at all four corners. The car is equipped with an independent double-wishbone front and de Dion tube rear suspension along with an anti-roll bar, aftermarket shocks, and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted units out back. Service performed following the car’s arrival to the United States in 2009 is said to have included rebuilding the brake servo and replacing the primary brake cylinder, front calipers, and tie-rod ends.
The cabin houses buckets seats that have been reupholstered in red leather, which extends to the door and interior panels. A black dashpad tops the body-colored dashboard, and additional appointments include three-point seatbelts, quarter vent windows, and replacement gray carpets. The right-side window regulator was repaired and the doors were aligned in preparation for the sale.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with an inset clock and a 220-km/h speedometer with integrated auxiliary gauges. The fuel and temperature gauges are inoperative. The five-digit odometer shows 3k kilometers (~2k miles), and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.8-liter V6 features alloy construction as well as an external oil cooler. Factory-rated output was 146 horsepower. The triple Weber downdraft carburetors are said to have been rebuilt in the late 2000s, and were adjusted in preparation for the sale. An aftermarket fuel pump and distributor with electronic ignition are installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted four-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with a dual exhaust system, and additional underside images are presented below.
