Chrome 15″ steel wheels wear hubcaps with Porsche crests and are mounted with 165-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, which were serviced approximately 2k miles ago in 2007. The control arm bushings were reportedly replaced within the past year.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette along with matching rear seating surfaces and door panels. Salt-and-pepper carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes aluminum dash trim, a wood-rim steering wheel, a push-button AM radio, and opening front vent windows. The included Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows that the car was optioned with an exterior temperature gauge, which the seller states was removed and is included in the sale. Corrosion on the front trunk floor is shown in the gallery.
VDO green-letter instrumentation includes a central 7k-rpm tachometer as well as a 120-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 84k miles. The seller notes that the clock is inaccurate and the tachometer needle bounces.
The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four was factory rated at 102 horsepower and 90 lb-ft of torque. A Bursch exhaust system and dual Weber carburetors have been added. Work performed by Scientific Porsche of Pasadena, California in February 2022 included an oil change and replacing the fuel tank level sending unit.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. The shifter bushings were replaced in February 2022. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
The Porsche Production Specifications Certificate shows a production completion date of August 1966 as well as factory colors and optional equipment.
