The truck features aluminum body panels and left the factory finished in Alpine White. A body-off refurbishment carried out in 2012 involved replacing the doors, bulkhead, and T-pillars prior to an exterior repaint. The external roll cage was refinished at that time, and a non-heated windshield has been installed. Additional equipment includes J.W. Speaker LED headlights and turn signals, Wipac LED taillights, roof-mounted auxiliary lights, an ARB front bumper with a brush guard and integrated Superwinch, a rear ladder, a recovery shackle, rear mud flaps, and alpine windows. A rear plaque identifies this truck as number 437 of 500. Photos taken during the refurbishment are presented in the gallery.
White-finished 16″ steel wheels are mounted with 265/75 Definity Dakota A/T tires, and a matching spare is mounted on the swing-out rear carrier. Braking is handled by power-assisted front and rear disc brakes. Service in 2015 involved rebuilding the front knuckles and replacing the springs.
The cabin was reportedly refreshed between 2012 and 2015 and features heated front bucket seats and replacement second-row Puma-style seats trimmed in Black Span Mondus cloth upholstery. Additional work completed at that time is said to have included replacing the headliner and door panels, installing switches for the external auxiliary lights, removing the third-row jump seats, and converting the windows and door locks to power-operated assemblies. Further equipment includes a heater, a lockable center console, all-weather floor mats, an alarm system, and an Alpine CD stereo linked to aftermarket speakers and a subwoofer. The seller notes that the cigarette lighter and air conditioning do not work.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. A vacuum gauge and temperature gauge have been added to the dashboard. The six-digit odometer shows 129k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.
The fuel-injected 3.9-liter V8 was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 227 lb-ft of torque, and a replacement short block was installed under previous ownership in 2003. The air conditioning compressor, alternator, radiator, fan clutch, water pump, fuel pump, fuel tank, PCV valve, water hoses, sending units, and various sensors were also replaced at that time. The seller notes that the truck is due for an oil change and a fluid replacement.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a replacement R380 five-speed manual transmission that was installed in 2003 and is mated to a dual-range transfer case and a locking center differential. A Wolf rear axle sourced from a 2002 Range Rover is said to have been installed in 2004, and it is equipped with an ARB locking differential. The underside was refinished under current ownership, and the seller notes corrosion on the rear crossmember.
Removed and spare parts are included in the sale along with manufacturer’s literature.
