Color-keyed 16” steel wheels wear chrome trim rings and painted hubcaps and are mounted with 185-width radial tires that were installed within the past year, according to the seller. A spare is found in the rear storage area. The four-wheel drum brakes are said to have been refurbished in preparation for the sale.
The cabin houses seats and door panels that have reportedly been refurbished and trimmed in black leather. Appointments include black carpeting, a passenger-side grab handle, and a height-adjustable rearview mirror.
A black four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a central panel housing Smiths instrumentation including a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer has been reset and shows approximately 17k miles; true mileage is unknown.
The 3.4L inline-six was reportedly rebuilt years ago and has been fitted with an SE-spec cylinder head. Dual SU carburetors are installed, and work conducted within the past year is said to have included cleaning the fuel system and the carburetors as well as replacing various hoses and fuel lines. The seller states that the cooling system has been refurbished, and the removed cylinder head will accompany the vehicle.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below.
The Production Record Trace certificate from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust shows the factory colors and identification numbers along with a completion date of April 10, 1953 and information about the original owner.
