The Series 4600 Invicta replaced the Century in the Buick lineup for 1959 and featured bright rocker moldings as well as chrome “Invicta” badges on the fenders. This example was delivered from the factory in Wedgewood Blue (J), and the Fisher-built body is said to have been repainted in Arctic White in 2023. The chrome bumpers and brightwork were also refurbished at that time. Equipment includes a power-operated white convertible top, quad headlights, a wrap-around windshield, dual side mirrors, vent windows, quarter-panel fins, and reverse lights.
The black powder coated steel wheels wear full chrome covers and 6.70R15 Auburn Deluxe Radial whitewall tires that were installed under current ownership. A custom airbag suspension was also added under current ownership, and the front shocks were relocated. Power-assisted steering and four-wheel drum brakes were optioned from the factory.
The cabin features front and rear benches trimmed in multi-tone blue-and-white Cordaveen upholstery along with a matching top boot, dashboard, and door panels. Dark blue carpets were installed under current ownership, and additional features include a Sonomatic AM radio, a heater, and lap belts.
The blue two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring, and it fronts a 120-mph sweep speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. Instrumentation for the air suspension is mounted below the dash, while a remote controller is located on the front bench seat. The five-digit odometer does not work, and it shows under 9k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 401ci V8 was installed under previous ownership. A PerTronix Ignitor II ignition and Flamethrower coil were installed under current ownership along with a 12-volt electrical system with a PowerGEN alternator, spark plugs, custom cloth-covered wires, a battery, and an AC glass bowl fuel filter. An oil change was also performed.
