Ten-spoke 15″ wheels wear Shelby Cobra center caps and are mounted with 215/65 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The seller reports the power steering system leaks.
The interior received Black Knitted Décor bucket seats from the factory, with matching door panels and carpeting. Equipment includes the Interior Décor Group and Visibility Group, a heater with a defroster, a center console, faux woodgrain trim, a roll bar, three-point front seatbelts, aftermarket rear speakers, and an aftermarket radio. The glovebox door is signed by Carroll Shelby and a folding Sport Deck bench seat is located in the rear. The floor pan and carpets were reportedly replaced and a Painless wiring harness is said to have been installed during the refurbishment. The tilt away column is disconnected and the air conditioning does not blow cold.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel is fitted with a Shelby horn button and frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Stewart-Warner gauges indicating oil pressure and amperage are mounted beneath the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 88k miles, 1k of which were added during current ownership.
The 428ci Cobra Jet V8 was reportedly replaced during previous ownership, and the engine and carburetor are said to have been rebuilt during current ownership. Features include a Cobra-script finned air cleaner lid and valve covers as well as a blue engine block and cylinder heads.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 9-inch rear axle with 3.00:1 gears.
The Deluxe Marti Report shows initial delivery to Larsen Ford of White Plains, New York, and lists equipment and production statistics. A reproduction Shelby window sticker, warranty tag, and owner’s manual are included in the sale.
