Halibrand-style 15″ wheels are secured by safety-wired three-eared knockoff spinners and mounted with 245/60 front and 295/50 rear AVON Radial CR6ZZ tires. The car is equipped with independent rear suspension, adjustable coilovers, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin houses low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather and equipped with DJ racing harnesses. The driver’s seat is adjustable, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror is equipped. A Sony CD head unit with Bluetooth and satellite radio connectivity is housed in the trunk and linked to a PowerBass Xtreme amplifier and speakers between the seat backs. The battery is mounted in the trunk and equipped with a cutoff switch.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a mix of Smiths and Lucas instrumentation including a reverse-sweep 180-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 40k miles.
The 353ci Windsor V8 was bored and stroked to 393ci by Coast High Performance in Torrance, California, and installed in July 2002. It is equipped with a Jim Inglese eight-stack Weber carburetor system, a Borla intake, a Schneider Racing camshaft, Comp Cams hydraulic lifters, Crane Energizer roller rocker arms, and Edelbrock cylinder heads. Cobra-branded valve covers were installed in 2017 along with replacement gaskets. A Firefly Performance exhaust with ceramic-coated side pipes was fitted in 2016.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a Ford 8.8″ rear axle.
The state of California BAR sticker is shown above and describes the car as a “2002 SPCN Cobra Kit.” The California assigned identification number CA965437 matches the VIN on the current Utah title, which lists the car as a 2002 Superperformance Cobra.
